Graduated from the State Institute of Cinematography ( VGIK ), Film Director's Department (R.L.Karmen workshop) in MOSCOW in 1978. Paralelly to his studies also worked at Riga Film Studios as assistant director and documentary film director. He has directed several newsreels and short documentaries. His feature debut is THE DAYS OF MAN (1989). In 1997 he participated in Mannheim-Heidelberg Co-production Project market with the new project "HEAT OVER GROSSKREUTZ".
"GULF STREAM UNDER THE ICEBERG" is his latest project in post-production.
