In Latvia this capacious term expresses the changes in economic as well as in morals.The film A HAT ON THE PAVEMENT takes you to Riga Central Market. All the every-day procedures there have grown into an allegory, thus helping to perceive life as it is in Latvia today. The genre of this short film is unusual. It could be called a musical documentary with tragicomic elements in it. The main heroes of the film are young professional musicians who have been looking for a place to earn their living and so they have found this place in the meat pavilion of Riga Central Market. |
