The film is about the poet Andrejs Eglitis and his return to Latvia after 53 years in exile in Sweden. His impressions about the regained fatherland are embellished with excerpts from Lücija Garüta’s famous cantata "God, Thine Earth Is Aflame!", based on Eglitis’ epic poem.
