This will be a story about man’s unsuccessful attempts to subordinate nature for his own economic interests.

Every Spring, the largest lake in Latvia, Lake Lubans and the surrounding lowlands are in flood. Large earthen banks and other hydro-technical constructions have been built around the lake. The central theme of the film is the battle between differing interests regarding the fluctuating water level in the lake - such as farmers, fishermen, electricity workers and biologists.

But maybe nature itself should be allowed to decide?
