Held annually since 1994, the festival focuses on the acting profession by offering not only a varied program of feature films and a competition, but the opportunity to meet such living legends of the cinema as Gina Lollobrigida, Pierre Richard, Alain Delon and Ornella Mutti. They have all visited Latvia. Discussion sessions, laboratories and lectures are also held with the participation of festival guests.
An award, named in honour of actress Vija Artmane, is also presented each year.
