THE UNFINISHED DINNER
Fiction, Detective comedy, 1979
Director
Janis Streics
An intensive, highly professional thriller where favourable irony exchanges bitter sarcasm. The film is based on the novel by the Swedish writers P. Vale and M. Sevale "Police, police, potato mash". It is a colourful, witty and many-layered chronicle of the police work, and tells about an investigation of a murder. A man is shot dead at a dinner table in a restaurant. Who has done this, and why? Detective Monson, with the help of two police officers, starts an investigation. They have to question a lot of weird and contradictory witnesses, while they get some idea, what has caused the murder. And the reason is quite extraordinary.
