Based on a famous play by the Latvian writer Anna Brigadere
It is story of two young girls - step-sisters - Mother's (half witche's) own daughter Paija and her step-daughter Maija. Maija is a kind, beautiful and very diligent girsl, and is not afraid of any work others make her do. Paija is nasty, whimsical and lazy, and can't do anything properly. One day they both come down to the underworld, and have to show who they are. And both are rewarded according to their good or bad deeds.
