This touching family movie, set in pre-WW2 Latvia, follows the adventures of a music teacher Cirulitis' family during the days of Christmas. Cirulitis, a father of five children, has lost his job. To earn some money he is giving private lessons and lending a hand to the house owner. But his children are as children usually are - lively and naughty, sweet and sincere. And then the news comes - a wonderchild (a little piano player) has come to the town, and will give a concert. Mister Cirulitis is eager to hear him playing. After a range of comic and dramatic events, he with the help of his children not only attends the concert, but also helps out the wonderchild, and gets a good job.
